🇺🇸 Is Hiring an Audio Engineer Solving Time Spent on Editing? - Steve Stonebraker

Steve Stonebraker is a staff security engineer with 2 podcasts that were taking around 10 hours to edit, but now it's reduced by 50%.

Steve Stonebraker is a staff security engineer and he has 2 podcasts: the first one is “Ephemeral Security”, in which he interviews professionals and the second is called “AOL Underground” where he interviews hackers and staff of America Online (AOL), covering the 90’s/Early 2000’s.

Editing was taking over 8 - 10 hours from when he started, and now it takes about 4 - 5 hours. However, Steve thought he could still be faster, so he decided to hire an audio editor.  Listen to this episode to learn more about this decision.

Other tips that made him produce episodes faster are:

  • Google Document to send to the guests (pre-interview) giving them recording advice and a set of interview questions.
  • Calendly to save time scheduling and booking guests
  • Templates ready for the questions
